Energy Alberta was proud to participate in the SMR Canada Summit 2025, held in Sherwood Park, Alberta, where the company’s CEO, Scott Henuset, joined Chief Issac Laboucan-Avirom of the Woodland Cree First Nation, and Terry Ungarian, Chairman of the Peace Regional Energy Committe, on a panel discussing the Peace River Nuclear Power Project.
The panel focused on the collaborative efforts of EnergyAlberta, local Indigenous communities, and regional stakeholders to bring nuclear power into Alberta’s energy mix. Topics explored included the economic and environmental benefits of nuclear power, regulatory considerations, and the importance of engaging with local and Indigenous communities responsibly and thoughtfully.
The summit brought together more than 400 delegates and 60speakers from the nuclear industry to discuss the role of nuclear energy inAlberta’s future and explore key conversations on technology, policy and deployment.
